The Ferry Trip

Guests are reminded to make arrangements with Bruce Watt  for the transfer from Mallaig to Tarbet (from where the Estate Boat will take you the short distance to Kylesmorar or you can walk if you wish). In April and October sailings are Mondays and Fridays and from May – September sailings are every week day (Mondays-Fridays).

Guests are reminded that weather conditions can occasionally make it impossible to make the trip to/from Kylesmorar other than on foot. In such circumstances, the Estate will endeavour to help you make other travel or accommodation arrangements but cannot be held liable for any expense, loss or cancellation beyond the rental paid.

If you are unable to make the ferry times for whatever reason, please make your own arrangements to get from Mallaig to Tarbet by contacting one of the numbers listed on our Things to do page and call us to let us know your plans.

On Foot

It is possible to walk into Kylesmorar from Bracorina on the shore of Loch Morar to Swordlands and then over the hill to Tarbet. This is a 2-3 hour walk for the keen walker over remote ground. If you plan to walk in, please let us know so that we know when to expect you.
